Common problems, with the fix.

Installing

The plugin doesn’t show up in my DAW

Almost always a rescan, not a broken file.

  1. Quit your DAW completely, then reopen it.
  2. Check the plugin is in the right folder — macOS VST3 “/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3”, macOS AU “/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components”, Windows VST3 “C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3”.
  3. Logic only: quit it, delete “~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache”, reopen.
macOS says the developer can’t be verified

Normal for a new download. Nothing is wrong with the file.

  1. Right-click (or Control-click) the installer.
  2. Choose Open.
  3. Confirm. Double-clicking will keep refusing — it has to be right-click.
Windows warns me about the download

SmartScreen flags installers it hasn’t seen often.

  1. Click More info.
  2. Click Run anyway.
VST3 or AU — which do I need?
  1. Logic or GarageBand — AU.
  2. Anything else — VST3.
  3. Unsure? Install both. Your DAW uses the one it understands.

Licences

My licence code hasn’t arrived

It’s almost always spam filtering, not a failed purchase.

  1. Wait two minutes.
  2. Check your spam folder.
  3. Re-send it from your account using the email you bought with.
  4. Still nothing — email hello@leftfieldaudio.com.
How many computers can I use it on?

Two per purchase.

  1. A slot is used only when the code is entered on a new machine.
  2. Reinstalling or updating on a machine you’ve already activated doesn’t use another.
  3. Running these across a studio or a team? Email hello@leftfieldaudio.com about a corporate licence.
I’ve got a new computer and both slots are used
  1. Email hello@leftfieldaudio.com from the address you bought with.
  2. Say which machine is gone.
  3. The slot is cleared and you re-enter the same code.
Do I need to be online to use the plugins?

No. The licence is checked once, in the plugin, and never again.

Buying

What do I actually get?
  1. The plugin in both formats for your platform.
  2. A licence code.
  3. Every future update to that instrument, free.
Do I pay again for updates?

No. Updates to an instrument you own are free, permanently.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are for when something is actually wrong — not for changing your mind.

  1. Email hello@leftfieldaudio.com and say what the problem is.
  2. If it can’t be fixed, you’ll be refunded.
